| The CheckUpdates main window shows information and status, and gives access to products settings and edition. On the left, you have the display settings, and the products under surveillance. On the right is the list of installed applications.
|

Activation of predefined groups: Different groups are predefined. You can enable or disable all products of a group. Open the Activate Predefined Groups dialog and check (or uncheck) the desired groups. Predefined products are available for any user, registered or not, except the group reserved for the users having purchased a licence. Display settings: The popup menu on the top left can display all products, or only selected products, products not up to date, or products of one of the predefined groups. You can display only the products that are (or not) installed in your machine. List of surveyed products: They are listed on the left. You can display only active products with the popup menu above the list. Any product can be activated or deactivated at any time by clicking the checkbox on the left of its name. Deactivated products will not be displayed in the menu (icon in the menu bar) even if a new version was detected.

The status of a product is given by a red or green icon (red if not up to date). The grey bullet with a "?" is displayed when the version was not found during the last Check (no web access, web page unavailable, or version not found). The status is updated each time a new version is detected.

Click these buttons to change the status of the selected product(s). For example, if a new version does not interest you, switch the status of the product to up to date, and you'll only be alerted for the next version.

Click this button to acces the download page of the selected product (the page you defined in the product editor).

Click this button to immediately launch a Check of the selected product (or all products if no product is selected).

Click this button to create a new product surveillance. Note: If you have selected one of the installed applications in the list on the right, its name will be used for the new product. Note: These products can be activated only with a registered version of CheckUpdates.

List of Installed Applications: The list on the right shows the applications installed on your machine. An icon shows the Universal Binary applications (optimized for Mac Intel).

Click this button to update the list of installed applications. You can choose which applications are displayed in the Preferences dialog.

When CheckUpdates detects a product under surveillance having the same name as an installed application, it compares both the installed and the detected versions to display the status.

An information and status area is located at the bottom of the window, displaying information about the last selected item, or the progress of the current operation.
